The Salisbury Centre is situated about a mile south of the city centre, on Salisbury Road, which is off Dalkeith Road and close to the Royal Commonwealth Pool. Lothian buses from the city centre run to either end of Salisbury Road. These are numbers: 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 29, 30, 31, 37 and 49 and First Bus 86. For those travelling by car there is meter parking on Salisbury Road.
Founded in 1973 the Salisbury Centre occupies a large Georgian house and is the longest established holistic centre in Edinburgh. One very special feature is the beautiful walled organic garden, named after Winifred Rushworth, an enthusiastic gardener and major driving force behind the creation of the Salisbury Centre. Visitors and clients are welcome to experience this quiet haven at any time between 10-00am to 7-00pm.
Please note that Kathy no longer works from The Wholeworks

Adults and teenagers from 12 upwards
Cost of appointments: initial (2 hours) £90 /follow up (1 hour) £55
You will need to allow up to two hours for the first consultation for adults and teenagers from 12 years of age upwards. I take extensive notes throughout which I use afterwards to help me in my research to find the closest possible matching homoeopathic remedy.
Follow up appointments help me to monitor progress, assess the reaction to the remedy and if necessary make adjustments to the strength or frequency of the dose. Intervals between appointments are usually between 4 to 6 weeks, longer as you improve. The total number of visits needed varies greatly from person to person according to the nature and complexity of their complaint/s.
Babies and children up to 12:
Cost of appointments, initial (90 minutes) £75 / follow up (1 hour) £55
The time is divided between time getting to know the child with parent/s present and time with one parent, whilst the child waits outside with the other adult. If only one parent can attend a second adult should come along to look after the child. If the child is very shy or reluctant to speak, or is disruptive or rude, it's absolutely fine, it's part of their nature. We go with whatever comes up in the moment and work with that. I am a qualified teacher as well as a homoeopath and am very used to entering the world of the child. Children are welcome to bring a favorite toy or books and I always have paper and crayons on hand, as drawing can be a useful medium for the child to express itself.
For the newly born and toddlers; The parent/s describes the problem whilst the baby stays with us. I generally ask more direct questions than I would during an older child's case taking.
Cancellation policy: I would respectfully ask that cancellations are made at least 24 hours (full working day) before appointments or the full fee will be charged.
